Paroda siekiama išgryninti ryšį tarp asmeninės patirties (šeimos prisiminimų, vasarų priekrantės) ir kolektyvinės atsakomybės. Tarp matomo plastiko ir nematomų biocheminių pokyčių, kurie ilgainiui formuoja visą ekosistemos ateitį.
Baltijos jūra ir akvariumas atsiduria parodos epicentre, kurie tampa ne tik kraštovaizdžiu ar prisiminimų fonu, kartu ir signalu. Tai slenkstis tarp kasdienybės ir sisteminio pokyčio: vanduo, kuriame kaupiasi mikroplastikas bei padidėjęs azoto ir fosforo kiekis, nebetelpa vien į estetinį rėmą – jis virsta matoma ir girdima socialinės atsakomybės išraiška.
Parodoje kviečiame stebėti, skaičiuoti ir veikti, pasitelkiant asmeninę patirtį ir atsiminimus: estetinis susidūrimas su tarša gali tapti pradžia pokyčiui, o meno patirtis – ne tik įkvėpimu, bet ir raginimu veikti čia ir dabar.
Martyna Plioplytė–Zujienė – tarpdisciplininio meno kūrėja, baigusi tekstilės meno ir dizaino magistrantūrą Vilniaus dailės akademijoje. Nuo 2022 m. Martyna yra Užupio Meno Inkubatoriaus rezidentė, aktyviai dalyvaujanti meninėje veikloje Lietuvoje ir užsienyje, pristatydama kūrybą tarptautiniuose meno festivaliuose ir rengdama personalines parodas. Jos kūryba jungia ekologinę atsakomybę, dvasinio tvarumo paieškas ir kolektyvinę atmintį, tyrinėdama, kaip asmeninės istorijos persipina su globaliomis aplinkos problemomis.

From August 29, we invite you to visit the UMI Gallery (Užupio st. 2A) for the newly opened exhibition "Wounded Environment" by interdisciplinary artist Martyna Plioplytė-Zujienė.
The exhibition aims to refine the connection between personal experience (family memories, summers on the coast) and collective responsibility. Between visible plastic and invisible biochemical changes that ultimately shape the future of the entire ecosystem.
The Baltic Sea and the aquarium are at the epicenter of the exhibition, becoming not only a landscape or a backdrop for memories, but also as a signal. It is a threshold between everyday life and systemic change: water, in which microplastics and increased levels of nitrogen and phosphorus accumulate, no longer fits into an aesthetic frame – it becomes a visible and audible expression of social responsibility.
At the exhibition, we invite you to observe, count, and act, drawing on your personal experiences and memories: an aesthetic encounter with pollution can be the beginning of change, and the experience of art can be not only an inspiration but also a call to action here and now.
Martyna Plioplytė–Zujienė is an artist who completed a master's degree in textile art and design at the Vilnius Academy of Arts. a resident of the Užupis Art Incubator, a member of the Lithuanian Interdisciplinary Artists' Union, and since 2022, she has been actively participating in artistic activities in Lithuania and abroad, presenting her work at international art festivals. Her work combines ecological responsibility, the search for spiritual sustainability, and collective memory, exploring how personal histories intersect with global environmental issues.
The official opening of the exhibition will take place on September 3 at 6 p.m.
